Web Application Developer
Farallon Geographics seeks an innovative and entrepreneurial Web Application Developer to join our geospatial systems integration team. We desire an enthusiastic and computer savvy person who can mash up geographic data with business systems to create the next generation of decision support systems required by our clients.
You should have an understanding of enterprise-scale code development and the role web applications such as Google Earth and Microsoft Virtual Earth can play in presenting geographically-referenced information to users throughout an enterprise.
Required Qualifications:
- BS in a science, computer science, or engineering field, or the equivalent experience
- At least 1-3 years of web application development using .NET (C# preferred)
- Experience creating database driven web sites
- Strong (D)HTML, JavaScript, and client-side coding experience with debugging skills
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Ability to work collaboratively and productively in a small team
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to lead and manage clients
Preferred Technical Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience developing clean, intuitive user interfaces
- Experience with XML, CSS, JSON, and XSLT
- Experience developing production-grade web services
- Experience and strong interest in mashing up dynamic data feeds with Google Earth, Microsoft Virtual Earth, and traditional GIS systems
- Experience with traditional GIS systems (e.g., ESRI) desirable but not required
- Experience with Free or Open Source Geospatial technologies desirable but not required
