County of San Mateo Linear Referencing System (LSR) for PMS to GIS integration

Solution

Farallon helped the County to develop an LRS. In order to build the LRS, Farallon developed procedures and documentation for updating the County’s PMS database to establish linkages to the County’s Intergraph-based GIS centerlines. Farallon then programmed the County’s Oracle geodatabase to support a dynamic GIS/PMS link. Farallon developed Oracle triggers and procedures to support linear referencing and dynamic segmentation. Farallon also developed view-based features taking advantage of dynamic segmentation to render pavement data on streets to meet query requirements of the County.
